Residents, housing providers, advocates, government officials, and the faith community are invited to a community forum to address critical low-barrier housing needs in Orange County. Co-sponsored by Orange County and Alliance Health, the event will offer a space for collaboration and dialogue to explore increasing housing solutions for individuals facing barriers to access.

Opioid Settlement Fund Grant Applications Due by February 21

Opioid settlement funds are available for prevention, treatment, recovery, education, and awareness. The grant application period runs through February 21, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Local organizations are encouraged to apply for funding to support innovative programs focused on prevention, treatment, recovery, and public education.

Seymour Center Switching to LEDs |

| Orange County is switching to LEDs in county facilities as part of the Climate Action Plan to help lower our energy use and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
A switch to LEDs saves the Seymour Center about 56,587 kilowatts a year and about $4,785.63 annually on our electric bill! LEDs can lower YOUR energy costs too! Swapping out LEDs for just five of
your most used light bulbs can save $75 a year on your electric bill!

Orange County Sustainability Team Awarded $25,000 from Duke Energy |

The Orange County Sustainability Team is proud to announce its receipt of a $25,000 grant from Duke Energy to support a groundbreaking heat mapping analysis and tree planting initiative. This project aims to identify and address heat islands across Orange County by partnering with families in heat-stressed and historically under-recognized communities to plant trees.

Visit the Orange County Main Library at 137 W. Margaret Lane Hillsborough, for a special 10:30 am performance by magician Dana Hill, creative crafts, and engaging activities the whole family will enjoy. Throughout the morning, there will be book readings by special community guests.
