Nursing is a versatile career! Learning more about the profession beyond the fact that nurses “help people” will allow you to speak directly to why you are prepared for the nursing program, why nursing is a good fit for you, and your passion and motivation for the career.
Consider the following opportunities:
|
- Talk with a current nursing student about what they are learning in the classroom and experiencing in the clinical setting.
-
Talk with current nurses about what their daily job responsibilities are, what their career path is, and what they love about their job.
- Explore all different types of nursing, including but not limited to acute care settings, primary care settings, community health nursing, and more!
-
Think about setting up job shadowing, or conducting phone or in-person “interviews” to ask questions and learn more!
|
