As a part of the Political Science Haggard Lecture Series and in collaboration with the Center for Mexican American Studies, David de la Fuente will give a lecture on “How to Land a Good Job in a Political Campaign,” Wednesday, Jan. 31, 12-2 p.m. in the University Hall, Room 110. | Scholarship for natural conservation research

The Arlington Conservation Council Endowment for Scholarship and Research is offering a $1,000 scholarship to students interested in conducting undergraduate research pertaining to the conservation of natural resources. Preference will be given to research activities that benefit the city of Arlington, are interdisciplinary and multiorganizational, and leverage the resources of other entities. From 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, the UTA Veterans Business Outreach Center is hosting its Third Thursday Think Tank event that is open to the local community, all UTA employees, and students interested in entrepreneurship and business ownership. Guest speaker Tim Ackermann, Navy veteran and lawyer at the Ackermann Law Firm, will discuss intellectual property basics for business owners. In-person attendance for this workshop will be located at the UTA College of Business, Room 609, and virtual attendance will be available via Microsoft Teams. Registration is required.
