George F. Jewett Distinguished Professor of Business & Leadership Jeff Matthews' new book, Generals and Admirals, Criminals and Crooks: Dishonorable Leadership in the U.S. Military (University of Notre Dame Press) was recently mentioned in The New York Times. The article discusses the declining public opinion of the military and cites three scandals involving high-level officers in the U.S. Navy drawn directly from Matthews' book.

Logger Football got their season off to a strong start over Labor Day Weekend, beating Lewis & Clark College 42–38. Quarterback Mason Binning ’25 had an especially great game, passing for three touchdowns and running in two, earning a spot as one of the Northwest Conference's student-athletes of the week.

Puget Sound's summer research students presented their work at Summer Quest on Sept. 7. Nearly 100 Loggers spent their summer working closely with a faculty advisor in the arts, humanities, or sciences, exploring everything from the impact of stress on crickets to an oral history of Compton's Poinsettia Avenue.
