The Extension Institute of Human Development & Relationships provides the tools Wisconsinites need to thrive as well-rounded, capable individuals and families. We support families in caring for each other in ways that promote growth and understanding. Our programs promote aging-friendly communities, coach effective parents and help families put technology, mindfulness, and financial awareness to use.

Below are upcoming local & statewide events & workshops provided by the UW Extension Family & Finance program.
Registration is highly encouraged for all events & workshops. All of these events can be found on our local and/or statewide Extension website for families or finance.

Intended for parents with kids age 0-12, but all are welcome!
Boost confidence, learn simple strategies for raising happy, healthy children. Includes bedtime routines.

Children feeling a little down and feeling the blues? When this happens, it can be hard for children and adults to navigate the emotions. This two-part class will teach you the knowledge and research-based skills understanding what “mood is” and how caregivers can help children improve their mood.

Extension provides well-researched, quality information and programs to further support parenting and family relationships. The Financial Education Program at UW–Madison Extension of Dane County helps families and individuals to achieve financial well-being, reach for financial goals, planning for life’s unexpected events, and build a secure financial future.
