Dear Alumni and Friends,

2,387. That's the number of graduates who completed their degrees this semester and became our newest alumni.

This group includes 70 doctoral graduates and over 100 graduates from the CSU College of Law. More than 2,200 graduate and undergraduate students, along with their family and friends, filled the Wolstein Center for two inspiring Commencement ceremonies.

These graduates join our proud alumni, now over 144,000 in total across the globe.

In the months and years to come, I can't wait to see the Class of 2024 return to CSU with stories of where their educations have taken them and what they were able to accomplish. Congratulations, graduates.

Tomorrow's Public Impact Professionals

Dr. Jill Gordon joined CSU as dean of the Levin College of Public Affairs and Education at the start of this calendar year. As Dean Gordon is wrapping up her first semester, I thought this would be an opportune time to sit down with her and talk about her insights into Levin College and her vision for the college's future.

Meet Our Valedictorians

At our Commencement ceremonies for our undergraduate and graduate students, we honored five students for their academic excellence and co-curricular commitments. Congratulations to Ashley Banas, Courtni Began, Jenna Deang, Cyenna Ulrich-Cech and Kierstin Clark.

Continuing a Winning Streak with High Academic Performance

In addition to competing in conference championships this season, our student-athletes excelled in the classroom this semester. The spring 2024 semester is the 36th consecutive term in which our Vikings earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and 72% of our athletes earned academic honors.

The Unexpected Burglar

Michael Finkel's The Art Thief: A True Story of Love, Crime, and a Dangerous Obsession is a gripping summer read that surprised me with the quiet moments peppered in among daring heists. Finkel's subject isn't the thief you expect him to be, and the meditative chapters provide some clue into the motives that would lead someone to steal priceless art using little more than a Swiss Army Knife.
