Message from the Kansas CASA Association, Inc. State Director |
|
|
As we come to the close of another year, December invites us to pause and reflect. The pace of 2025 was full, meaningful, and at times challenging—but also deeply rewarding. Across Kansas, CASA volunteers, staff, and supporters showed up for children who needed a steady, trusted voice when their world felt uncertain.
This year brought important growth for Kansas CASA Association, Inc. Together, we refreshed our statewide website, expanded outreach efforts, and launched a brand awareness campaign that included new videos sharing our mission and the heart behind CASA’s work. Each step strengthened how we tell our story and how we connect communities to the children we serve—from rural to urban communities, CASA is here to make a difference across the state of Kansas.
Behind every initiative is the same purpose: ensuring children in foster care are seen, heard, and not forgotten. Especially during the holiday season, when routines shift and uncertainty can feel heavier, CASA remains a source of consistency and hope for children navigating the court system.
As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with great excitement as we prepare to celebrate 35 years of Kansas CASA Association, Inc. This milestone is a testament to the dedication of those who came before us and those who continue this work today. I am incredibly thankful for the local CASA programs, volunteers, partners, board members, and supporters who make this mission possible.
Thank you for being part of this work and for standing with children—this season and all year long. I look forward to what we will accomplish together in the year ahead. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!
With gratitude,
Deena Gage
State Director

For children in foster care, trust is often fragile—and sometimes feels impossible. In this video, Luc, a former Kansas foster care youth, shares how his CASA volunteer, Terry, became a steady, caring presence who helped him learn how to trust again. Told in Luc’s own words, his story is a powerful reminder that when one person shows up consistently, it can change the course of a child’s life.

Bring Hope to a Child This Holiday Season |
Luc knows firsthand the difference one caring adult can make. His CASA volunteer, Terry, helped him learn to trust again—and your support can give that same gift to another child this holiday season.
Every child deserves a champion in their corner. By giving today, you help Kansas CASA Association, Inc. provide vital services and training to local programs, empowering volunteers to advocate for children who need a consistent, caring voice. Your generosity brings hope, stability, and the promise of a brighter future to children navigating uncertainty—especially during the holidays. Together, we can ensure that every child experiences safety, love, and someone who believes in them.

Kansas CASA: Q3 Numbers That Tell a Story |
Between July and September 2025, CASA volunteers across Kansas stood beside 1,009 children, offering steady support during some of the most uncertain moments of their lives. With the commitment of 626 volunteers, 174 children reached case closure, moving closer to stability and permanency. Along the way, advocates made 11,438 meaningful connections—listening to children, collaborating with families, and working with professionals to ensure each child’s voice was heard. Behind every number is a child who was seen, supported, and never alone.

Pete’s of Erie: A True Champion for CASA |
|
|
For the 13th year in a row, Pete’s of Erie, Inc. has shown extraordinary generosity and commitment to children in foster care. This year, the company raised $100,000 to benefit six local CASA programs across Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Their support helps these six local programs train and equip volunteers in their communities to advocate for children, ensuring they have a consistent, caring presence in their lives. This fundraiser is possible, thanks to Aimee Daniels, Executive Director of CASA of the 31st Judicial District. Aimee worked with Pete's of Erie all those years ago to develop this relationship and look what it has grown into today.
We are deeply grateful to Pete’s of Erie, their employees, and customers for standing alongside CASA children—proving that caring communities can change lives.
