Duke Experts, Students Take Part in United Nations Climate Change Conference
Starting this week, Duke University experts and students are participating in COP29, the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, where world leaders are gathering to discuss climate action. Seventeen Duke students, enrolled in the UN Climate Change Negotiations Practicum, will gain hands-on experience in international climate policy while supporting clients, including low- and middle-income countries and NGOs. Duke experts, including Jackson Ewing, Tyler Felgenhauer, Gabriela Nagle Alverio, Clara Park, and Ashley Ward, are contributing their research and insights on topics like energy transitions, climate risk, human rights, climate finance, and extreme heat governance.
