March Madness is Coming Back to Jersey City!
On Friday, February 23, the New Jersey City University women’s basketball team captured the championship of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) for the third time in the last four years — defeating The College of New Jersey, 65-52 — to become the first NJCU athletics team in any sport to win three conference championships in a four-year period.
Now, the Gothic Knights will play for a national championship, beginning this Friday, March 1.
But first, NJCU awaits news from the NCAA about who it will play...and where.
The NJCU campus community is invited to join the women's basketball team to watch the NCAA selection show on the big screen live on NCAA.com on Monday, February 26 from 2-3 p.m. during a Watch Party on campus on the first floor of the Gilligan Student Union.

The AFT is offering four scholarship opportunities each in the amount of $1,000 for the Spring 2024 semester to any NJCU undergraduate or graduate student who meets the following qualifications:

- GPA of 3.0 or higher for undergraduate and GPA of 3.3 or higher for graduates.

Financial need, based on their Financial Aid application.

Students must have volunteered on campus or participated in community service. Alternatives for those unable to complete in-person community service are outlined in the application. (student must provide a letter of reference)

Students must submit an essay based on the two questions provided on the application cover sheet.

The Psychology Department at NJCU, led by Drs. Peri Yuksel & Wei Zhang, is seeking volunteers to participate in a 20-minute anonymous online survey to explore lifestyle habits. Responses are anonymous and will help the investigators understand how COVID-19 has changed online and offline behavior in adults. Results will be disseminated for peer-review and inform us on the effect of technology on mental health and social dynamics. When an email is forwarded using an email client, such as Gmail or Outlook, it retains those unique links and continues to track opens and clicks as if they were the original recipient's actions. The same thing happens with the "Opt out" link in emails. If the original recipient forwards the email to someone else and that person clicks "Opt out", the original recipient will be unsubscribed.
