WANTED FOR ONLINE STUDY: Hispanic Immigrant parents raising children aged 5-10

The NJCU Department of Psychology is seeking non-U.S. born Hispanic immigrant parents raising a child aged 5-10 to volunteer in an online parental survey of 20-30 minutes. Responses are anonymous and will help the investigators understand challenges faced by migrant families in the U.S. Results will be disseminated for peer-review and used for intervention and training programs.

Our Keynote speaker, State Senator Angela McKnight, the first African American Assemblywoman for New Jersey’s 31st District, is a trailblazing leader representing Bayonne and Jersey City. As the founder and CEO of AngelaCARES, she empowers seniors, caregivers, and youth in her community. A passionate advocate and mentor, Senator McKnight is a former adjunct faculty member at NJCU and instructs at the Rising Tide Capital Community Business Academy. Her dedication to service and education continues to inspire and uplift those around her.

Lente Latine/Latin Lens sheds light on recent works by Latin American photographers based on the east coast. Curated by the photographer Natali Bravo-Barbee, the exhibition highlights these artists’ exploration of their ancestral roots, cultural identity, and diasporic communities through varied photographic techniques.
