The Halloween season is here! Be sure to make your spooktacular holiday a memorable one by keeping your little ones safe while trick-or-treating.

FEMA has issued prelimary Flood Insurance Rate Maps and residents or businesses with supporting technical and scientific information, such as detailed hydraulic or hydrologic data, can appeal the revised flood risk information on the preliminary maps.

County Human Resources

The County Human Resources Department supports over 4000 employees, making the County of Santa Barbara one of the largest employers in the area. Find out what this department is all about.

October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month

ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) sponsors this event to promote the adoption of dogs from local shelters. According to the ASPCA, approximately 3.3 million dogs enter shelters every year. Here in Santa Barbara County, we see about 3,000 each year. You can help by adopting, fostering, volunteering, donating or just sharing with your network of friends and family!
