Plus: "Beyond J" discusses Sac State's support for undocumented students
Winter Commencement returns with
special tribute to COVID-era graduates |
Sacramento State celebrated the return of Winter Commencement at Golden 1 Center, marking the occasion with three ceremonies that honored both current graduates and alumni from the pandemic years. More than 3,000 new graduates received their diplomas, and a special "Graduation Rewind" welcomed back the Classes of 2020 and 2021.
"Many of you had been dreaming of the moment you would walk across this stage at graduation, only to see that moment slip away," said President Luke Wood. "We wanted to make sure that we had the opportunity to celebrate all of you."
The ceremonies brought together thousands of graduates and their families, who braved wind and rain to mark academic achievements and share in long-awaited celebrations of success.
