TfT Bulletin #13  |  February 26, 2025

It is always a moment of joy when a school decides to begin the TfT implementation journey. This decision often results from a discernment process in which school leadership engages with other TfT schools, as well as their own staff and Board. Many small moments lead to this courageous moment of taking the plunge.
We at TfT celebrate these decisions. Then we start our preparations for the journey of this new TfT school.
Increasingly, these celebratory moments center around schools (or Christian school systems) beyond the borders of Canada and the United States. More and more, the TfT network is a global network.
This TfT Bulletin is dedicated to sharing and celebrating beautifully diverse stories of TfT implementation around God’s world. We invite you to glimpse the Kingdom that it is.

Nicaragua Christian Academy, Nicaragua

CACE has been partnering with Nicaragua Christian Academy (NCA) for the past three years. From the very beginning, this school has intentionally adapted their TfT implementation to their cultural and geographical context. Instructional coach Missy Kamps shares this story from Wendy Gomez’s 5th-grade class. Wendy is a native Nicaraguan, an NCA alum, and a mom of an NCAI student. She is committed to both Nicaragua and NCA, and her FLEx invites her students to do the same.

Faith Academy, Philippines

Faith Academy is an international, Christian Pre-K-12 school whose vision is to see God’s kingdom and the Great Commission advanced through transformative, Christ-centered education. The tight-knit community at Faith Academy is dedicated to contributing to the academic, social, and spiritual development of students so that missionary families can serve in their callings long term. It seems only natural that their entry into the TfT journey is an “all-in” experience as they work through the Year One modules together. Pat Kornelis, CACE TfT School Designer, shares Faith Academy’s first-year experience.

Kpogede Community School, Ghana

EduDeo Ministries believes that a quality education integrated with the love of Jesus Christ creates pathways to whole-life transformation for children and entire communities. Since 2011, EduDeo Ministries has been walking alongside local partners in 13 majority world countries to advance Christ-centred education for children so that every community is transformed by the Gospel. Laurie Koning, Walking Together Design Lead at EduDeo, shares this TfT story from Kpogede Community School in Ghana.

New Zealand Adventist Education, New Zealand

CACE is in the early days of partnering with Adventist Education—New Zealand Pacific. Working directly with their Associate Director, Sarita Butler, the implementation plan is underway to bring the TfT framework to 16 Adventist Schools throughout the North and South Islands of New Zealand. (Some of you would have met Sarita at the Instructional Coaching Intensive in Philadelphia). We share the story of early adopters from nine schools coming together for three days of TfT workshops in January.

Sepum Christian School, Story School, and Christian Sprout International School, South Korea

Jeremy Horlings, Associate Executive Director for the Prairie Centre for Christian Education, has been working with a group of Christian schools in Korea over the last few years. They have done inspiring work with the TfT practices and here share some of their intentional implementation of Habits of Learning. Check out this story of how Jun Hyeong Kim (6th-grade teacher at SEPUM Christian School), Kim Eun-Hye (5th-6th-grade teacher at Story School)  and Baek Sun Mi (Literature teacher at Story School) utilize Habits of Learning at their respective schools.

Centro Educativo ANIJA, Dominican Republic

ANIJA is a Spanish acronym for “Helping the Children of Jarabacoa.” ANIJA serves over 375 at-risk children, grades PreK-8th grade, in Jarabacoa as part of Kids Alive International. TfT’s Director of Learning, Amanda Albright, is serving as CACE School Designer as she guides staff through Year 2 of their TfT training. To further support the staff’s journey, Head of School Ann VanDerMolen travels annually from the Dominican Republic to participate in the TfT Instructional Coaching Intensive. Amanda shares of her experience leading recent TfT workshops at ANIJA.
And all God's people,
all over the world,
said, "AMEN!"
