Dear Alumni and Friends,
A few weeks ago, many of us on campus gathered in the Student Center for the State of the University address. During that event, I spoke about the ways CSU serves as an academic innovator, a leader in research and an economic engine in Northeast Ohio.
I also spoke about the strength of the CSU community — how we embrace our diversity, celebrate our successes together, and remember those we have lost. Now, given how many people in the world are experiencing pain, danger and uncertainty, those remarks carry new relevance and impact.
We know that many members of our community are frightened and in pain. Even in situations when there are no right words that can ease the pain, we can provide comfort by being present for one another. We persevere when we listen and learn together.
We are Cleveland State University.
Regards,

Heroes of the Cleveland Preservation Movement
|
Preserving the Vanishing City, written by CSU Professor Stephanie Ryberg-Webster in our Levin College of Public Affairs and Education, provides fascinating context for Cleveland's landmark buildings and neighborhoods. It's an inspiring tale of housing boom and bust, followed by a determined preservationist movement.
