MEET SANRDA REYES | GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR |
Let's meet our newest Zumba instructor, Sandra!
Sandra brings incredible energy and passion to Active Wellness Center at NorthBay Health, with over two years of experience as a Zumba instructor—though her love for it makes it feel like a lifelong journey. She first discovered Zumba in a class that instantly sparked her passion, and that excitement continues to shine through in every session she leads. In addition to teaching at Active, Sandra is also licensed in Zumba Gold and Aqua Zumba.
Sandra thrives on creativity and continuous learning, always bringing fresh choreography and vibrant energy to the dance floor. She finds true joy in watching her students grow, gain confidence, and light up with smiles. Her goal is to create a welcoming space where everyone can let go, move freely, and enjoy their “happy hour.” Her only rule? Have fun!
Outside the studio, Sandra is a proud mom of four and grandmother of seven. As an empty nester, she embraces the freedom to spend meaningful time with friends and family. She also works as a Program Specialist for the City of Fairfield Parks and Recreation, where she helps bring new programs to life and supports special events within the community—work she deeply loves.
In her free time, Sandra enjoys the simple things: watching a great movie, getting lost in a good book, spending quality time with loved ones, and working on her first poetry book, which she hopes to publish soon.
Book a class with Sandra today! See the full Group Fitness Schedule HERE.

| Jennifer’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. Since joining Active Wellness Center in September 2023, she has completely transformed her life—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Walking into the gym for the very first time at 40 years old, Jennifer admits it felt intimidating. With no prior fitness background, she started with an Aqua class and quickly discovered the power of movement. From Zumba and Shred to Cycling, Step, Functional Fitness, and Stretch classes, she found joy, confidence, and a sense of belonging through group fitness. Most recently, she added personal training into her routine—continuing to challenge herself and grow stronger every day.
But Jennifer’s “why” runs much deeper. After experiencing profound personal loss-- losing her wife to cancer, her father becoming paralyzed after brain surgery and navigating life as a full-time caregiver for her father and young daughter (who was diagnosed with ASD in 2022), she made a powerful decision—to choose life, health, and longevity. What began as a step toward healing became a complete lifestyle transformation. Today, she is down over 100 pounds and continues to show up with consistency, discipline, and heart.
Jennifer credits the Active Wellness community for helping her rediscover herself. “I found hope, guidance, and inspiration through the amazing instructors and trainers—and I found myself within it all,” she shares.
Outside the club, Jennifer finds joy in gardening, spending time with her daughter, and advocating for autism awareness and accessibility. She also loves being outdoors—traveling, camping, hiking—and is excited to take on new adventures like fishing, cycling, and even her first 5K.
Her message is simple but powerful: you are never too old to start, and even in life’s darkest moments, transformation is possible.
If you see Jennifer in the club, don’t hesitate to say hello—she’s always happy to connect, share her journey, and remind others that they are not alone. We couldn't be happier to see Jennifer grow and transform and we're honored to be a part of her transformation journey.

STRENGTH TRAINING BEYOND AESTHETICS |
Muscle isn’t just for looks — it’s a longevity organ that keeps you strong, steady, and independent as you age. Strength training does far more than build tone; it helps regulate blood sugar, improve bone density, and support hormone balance, all of which protect against age-related decline.
