If you are an F-1 student graduating in spring or summer 2024, you may want to consider applying for Optional Practical Training (OPT). OPT is a 12-month work authorization benefit that allows students to work in the U.S. in a job related to their field of study. It typically takes three to four months for an OPT application to be processed by the USCIS, so students are encouraged to apply early. Students have 90 days before and 60 days after their program end date to submit their application to USCIS. Before you can apply for OPT, it is required to attend a workshop. Please note that there are only two workshops remaining for the semester on Thursday, April 25 (online), and Friday, May 3 (in-person).
