The Dane County Food System Action Plan is live!

Food affects all of us, but access to healthy options is not equal. As one focus group participant shared, “It’s crazy that it’s cheaper to eat unhealthy than it is to eat healthy. It costs more to eat healthier.”

After three years of community engagement, research, and collaborative planning, the Dane County Food System Action Plan is here. Developed by REAP Food Group, UW-Madison Extension Dane County, Public Health Madison and Dane County, Wisconsin Food Systems Inc., Mosaic LLC Consulting, and Snug Haven Farm, the plan reflects input from more than 3,200 residents across 15 municipalities. It includes seven goals and concrete actions to build a stronger, more accessible, and resilient local food system.

Whether you grow food, sell food, cook food, or simply eat it, there is a role for you. Read the full plan, explore the data, and learn how to get involved at go.wisc.edu/dcfsap.
