Hate Airline Security Lines? A New Technology May Ease Your Pain
Tired of dumping out water at airport security? New technology that was developed through research at Duke University could make that a thing of the past. Conventional X-Rays work great for identifying objects, but x-ray diffraction allows for distinguishing what type of contents are in a bag. Being able to tell the difference between a dangerous item and a safe item, which would create less false alarms and faster security lines while maintaining safety.
Quadridox is a Hillsborough, NC company founded by Duke Alumni who are bringing their Duke research to life. Their x-ray technology also applies to the medical field, allowing for more detailed imaging than conventional x-ray technology. This would allow for more efficient and accurate testing in labs and hospitals.
This research was supported by the National Institute of Health and the US Department of Homeland Security.
