2023 Homecoming Chili Cook-Off champions

Join the Homecoming crew and the Division of Student Affairs for the annual Chili Cook-Off Wednesday, Nov. 6, 12-1:30 p.m. in the Palo Duro Lounge of the University Center. Teams will compete to win the ultimate prize of Chili Cook-Off champion, bragging rights, and an awesome trophy. Register your team or just come and enjoy the Homecoming tradition.

5K Run/Walk/Roll

On Saturday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., UTA’s annual Homecoming 5K will take a scenic route throughout the UTA campus. The 5K is open to UTA students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. Sign up today.

Get ready for a spooktacular evening on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 6:30 p.m. at College Park Center. UTA’s women’s basketball team will take on University of North Texas at Dallas in a free exhibition game. Enjoy Halloween fun, including a trunk-or-treat, a costume contest, a balloon artist, a bounce house, and so much more.

Spring registration begins Monday, Nov. 4. Make sure you have confirmed spring courses with your advisor, cleared any registration-preventing holds, and checked for your date to begin enrolling. For more information about advising, visit uta.edu/advising.

Early voting for Tarrant County Elections will continue at the Maverick Activities Center this week. The voting location will be open Tuesday, Oct. 29-Friday, Nov. 1, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Men's basketball at the CPC

UTA’s men’s basketball team will open its season against the University of North Texas at Dallas with an 11 a.m. tipoff on Monday, Nov. 4. The doors will open at 10 a.m. at College Park Center. Admission to home basketball games is free for students who bring their Mav ID.

Mavericks, attend the Festival de Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead Festival) Monday, Nov. 4, 5-7 p.m. on the Maverick Activities Center lawn. There will be free food, music, a catrina contest, and so much more.

First Generation Celebration

First-Generation Celebration

The Office of Transition Programs and Services is thrilled to host the First-Generation Celebration Monday, Nov. 4, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the sixth floor of the UTA Central Library. The event will feature first-generation stories, networking, food, and giveaways. RSVP today. On The Town

UTA’s Department of Theatre Arts and Dance presents On the Town, music by Leonard Bernstein, book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, based on an idea by Jerome Robbins. The classic musical comedy follows the adventures of three American sailors on a 24-hour shore leave in New York City during World War II, leading to a whirlwind of romance, comedy, and dance as they explore the city’s iconic landmarks. The show runs for six performances in UTA’s Mainstage Theatre from Nov. 6-9 at 7:30 p.m., with matinee performances on Nov. 9-10 at 2 p.m. Purchase tickets.

WAC Volleyball Tournament

The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Volleyball Tournament is coming to College Park Center Nov. 21-23. Come see the top-ranked UTA volleyball team and the rest of the WAC battle it out for a championship. Tickets start at $7 and will go on sale at utatickets.com Monday, Nov. 4.

Scholarships from $2,000-$5,000 per year are available to UTA junior and senior STEM majors through Partnerships for Research and Education in Materials. Meet MyUTA: Your Maverick life, organized

Launching next month, MyUTA is a one-stop destination for your UTA experience! Users can access frequently used tools, such as academic resources, UTA email, campus maps, and parking availability. MyUTA will be hosted at my.uta.edu, which will be the new way to find MyMav. There will be no changes to the MyMav login process.
