To the Campus Community,
Earlier today, agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) arrived at the offices of the University of Massachusetts Boston Campus Police to execute an arrest warrant for an enrolled student at the University. Per its standard protocol, Campus Police reviewed and confirmed the agents were acting on an authorized warrant signed by a United States Magistrate Judge and accompanied them as they executed the warrant. The student was arrested without incident and is now in federal custody.

The university will have no comment on the ongoing federal criminal investigation.

Media inquiries should be directed to our Communications Office Director, DeWayne Lehman dewayne.lehman@umb.edu.
