The UTA Faculty Senate and the Staff Advisory Council invite you to join your colleagues for the biannual Faculty and Staff Mixer Thursday, Nov. 7, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Maverick Activities Center basketball courts. The event will feature a guest speaker, Provost Tamara Brown, and a brief presentation on Open Educational Resources from students enrolled in one of UTA's public relations classes. | Native American Heritage Month

The Native American Student Association will host a series of events to recognize and celebrate Native American Heritage Month throughout November. There will be a Native American Heritage Month kick-off event today, Monday, Nov. 4, 5:30-7 p.m. in the Rio Grande Ballroom of the University Center. All Mavericks are welcome to build community and enjoy dinner and performances from local Native drum and dance groups.

The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The first 300 fans to arrive at College Park Center will receive an exclusive Homecoming T-shirt and poster schedules. Tickets start at $5, and students, plus an additional guest, will be admitted for free.
UTA’s men's basketball team will take on Louisiana Tech University in the final sporting event of Homecoming Week Saturday, Nov. 9, with a 5 p.m. tip-off. The doors will open at 4 p.m. The first 500 fans to arrive at College Park Center will receive UTA pom-poms. Tickets start at $5, and students, plus an additional guest, will be admitted for free.

Research Enhancement Program open to applicants

The online application system for the Research Enhancement Program (REP) opens for applicants today, Monday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m. REP grants provide faculty with seed grants to launch new initiatives, serving as a foundation for future research and funding from external sources. The REP guidelines are available now. All proposals must be submitted by Friday, Dec. 6, for consideration.
