More than 30,000 children in the Partners For Kids region have lost their Medicaid coverage due to the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency that allowed kids to stay enrolled. Partners For Kids has developed resources that providers can use to help their patients retain their Medicaid coverage or find other subsidized affordable coverage.

Andrea Workman, RDH, has joined Partners For Kids as a dental hygiene educator. She has practiced in both Toledo and Columbus and has experience working with a wide range of patients, including the pediatric population. Andrea will provide support and education to both primary care and dental practices, and will also be involved with planning, developing and implementing new oral health initiatives. 2024 Partners For Kids Primary Care Provider Incentive Plan (PIP) Open Forum
Partners For Kids is pleased to share the Provider Incentive Committee has approved the primary care incentive plan for 2024. To support the rollout of the 2024 primary care incentive measures, Partners For Kids will offer three Q&A sessions for those who may have questions:
- Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m.
- Thursday, January 4, 2024, from noon to 12:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, January 9, 2024. from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

PFK Asthma Risk Portal: Identify and Learn About Your High-Risk Asthma Patients
In collaboration with the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Data Science team, Partners For Kids developed a risk model to predict which asthma patients have the highest chance of a future emergency department or inpatient asthma event. Providers now have access to the Asthma Risk Portal, which outlines each practice’s high-risk patients and provides an automated 12-month claims history for each patient, detailing medication and exacerbation events that placed them at high risk.

Register Now: Project ECHO Q1 Offerings
Project ECHO is a collaborative, tele-mentoring program designed to bring together subject matter experts and community-based providers in an “all teach, all learn” environment. ECHO creates ongoing learning communities where providers from a variety of disciplines receive support and develop the skills they need to diagnose and treat pediatric patients.

Positive Feedback on Care Coordination Partnership
The Care Coordination team values our relationships with community practices and providers. We are thrilled with the recent feedback from Julie Harness, Clinical Lead at Ohio Pediatrics, “We have had really good experiences with PFK Care Coordination. The referral process is quick and easy to use on Kids Care Link. Our practice has been able to help multiple families with a variety of needs get the assistance they need quickly. We really appreciate this partnership.”

Flovent® Brand Name Inhalers Being Discontinued
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has announced that effective January 1, 2024, they will no longer be manufacturing brand Flovent® HFA (fluticasone propionate inhalation aerosol) and brand Flovent® Diskus® (fluticasone propionate inhalation powder). Authorized generics of Flovent® HFA and Flovent® Diskus® are available.
