ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The following requirements must be met in order to submit an application to the nursing program in January:
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher (including all non-GVSU courses)
  • Admission pre-requisite GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • An earned grade of ‘C’ (not C-) or higher in all pre-requisite courses
  • Adhered to the KCON repeat policy that allows students to repeat three pre-requisite courses (only two of those courses can be BIO, BMS, or CHM). No required course may be repeated more than once.
Contact your academic advisor if you have any questions about your eligibility.

HOW TO PREPARE: MONTHLY TIP

The application consists of four components: (1) GPA, (2) Student Profile, (3) Personal Statement, and (4) Interview. The Personal Statement and Student Profile are available to download well before the application opens each semester.
Download these two documents and work on them in advance. This will give you plenty of time to brainstorm your thoughts, ask your academic advisor questions, and have things reviewed by faculty, the writing center, family, etc.
It's important to dedicate time and energy to filling out these documents so that they are truly representative of you, your experiences, and your readiness for the program.
