| The 21st Annual Art Club Ofrenda honoring Sister Elaine Claire Hagedorn SJA '53 was unveiled in late October and is on display in the Narthex. Sister Hagedorn was a Catholic school teacher, a principal and served as area coordinator for the Des Moines Diocese Social Action division. She also served for 30 years in ministry at Visitation Parish, now called Our Lady of the Americas. Thanks to Mrs. Kane, Mrs. Plasencia and the 60+ students who contributed to honoring her life and service to the community.
Alex Schwarte '19 and his father, Jeff, have created an app in honor of Lisa, their mom and wife who died of breast cancer in 2023. Lisa's Tree helps people to connect with others, serve those in need, and grow in faith. Jeff hopes churches, parishes and communities across the country utilize the app to help those going through their most difficult moments. Watch his interview with KCCI to learn more about the reason behind the app.
