Wednesday, February 5 at 6 AM
Early this morning we have partly cloudy skies with a stiff northwest breeze, and we have received a healthy dusting of new snow overnight to go along with the 11 inches that has accumulated in the past 36 hours. Our seasonal snowfall total now sits at 195 inches. The wind has been strong all night, with evidence of significant blowing and drifting, so keep an eye out for fresh drifts as well as areas of scour this morning.
Today’s forecast calls for partly to mostly sunny skies, along with colder temperatures. Early 6am temperatures range from -9 degrees at the top of the FourRunner Quad, to -1 degree in the base area. Those temperatures should rise to near 0 degrees at the summit and to near 10 degrees in the base area by early this afternoon.

Peter Morris, our in-house win expert, suggests you pair with
2017 DOMAINE JOLY TROUSSEAU $75
Founded in the region of Lyons in France just after the WW2, Domaine Joly is in its third generation of wine making. They feature grapes grown primarily in the Cote du Jura, in this particular case Trousseau. The Trousseau grape makes pale red, light bodied wines with strong tannins and long finishes. Notes of cherry, violets, strawberry, orange marmalade, lemon peel, and nutmeg can all be found in this interesting and expressive wine. A great pairing with the shrimp and andouille gnocchi or the halibut and can even work well with the curried vegetables.

“They are four classical musicians performing with the energy of young rock stars jamming on their guitars, a Beethoven-goes-indie foray into making classical music accessible but also celebrating why it was good in the first place.” —Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

FAVORITE ITEMS OF THE SPA TEAM
|
|
|
Karen Machia, Licensed Esthetician
My favorite products are the BABOR ampoules. They are like an extra hug for your face, absorbs beautifully and there’s plenty for neck and declotte with no greasy feeling just total absorption. A treat for your skin!
Jessica Swartley, Spa Director
I am in love with Lola’s Apothecary Bath Salts, Body Oils, and Body Souffles. As a huge fan of the ritual of baths this brand has it all to make your bath ritual calm and relaxing. Delicate Romance is my favorite scent journey with notes of sweet orange, lemon, and rose and geranium to focus on your heart chakra.
Wisdom Nectar Tea, Long Life Qi, would be another favorite product. We are all big tea drinkers in The Spa and are always looking for teas that make us feel as good as they taste. This particular blend stimulates brain health, focus and memory support. The tea is hand created by the team at Lotus Wei in Phoenix, AZ. Lotus Wei’s focus is on flower essences and the connection to our bodies and minds.
