Orange County Roadshow
to Bring Government Services
to Residents Oct. 12 |

Orange County Government is taking its show on the road. The next Orange County Roadshow will be held Sunday, Oct. 12, from 2-5 p.m., at Cedar Grove Community Center (5800 NC Highway 86 N, Hillsborough).

This free, family-friendly event will allow community members to conveniently access government services in an informal setting close to home. More than 20 county departments will be present to answer questions, share program information, and assist with applications for services.
Services and Opportunities
Residents will be able to:

- Learn about food security resources
- Apply for public assistance
- Register for activities provided by the Library, Aging, or Recreation departments
- Learn about property assessments
- Apply for the Longtime Homeowners Assistance program
- Get information about state tax assistance programs (Present Use Value, Disabled Vets, Homestead Exclusion)

Explore pet fostering, low-cost rabies and microchip clinics, and barn cat programs
- Sign up for a library card
- Apply for small business or agriculture grants
- Apply to serve on a county board or committee
- Learn about the Orange County Land Use Plan 2050

Departments Represented
The following departments/divisions will participate: Aging, Animal Services, Civil Rights & Civic Life, Clerk to the Board, Community Relations, Cooperative Extension, Criminal Justice Resource Department, DEAPR, DSS, Economic Development, Emergency Services, Health, Housing, Human Resources, Library, Planning, Register of Deeds, Sheriff’s Office, Solid Waste, Sustainability, Tax, Transportation, and the Visitors Bureau.
Community Fun
The event will also feature a free raffle with a wide variety of prizes.
