From the Camp Director,

Thanksgiving is more than a holiday; it’s a time to pause, reflect, and acknowledge the blessings in our lives. Whether surrounded by family and friends or spending the day quietly, this season invites us to cultivate a spirit of gratitude that extends beyond the Thanksgiving table.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

 – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)

This verse reminds me that gratitude is not reserved for moments when everything is going our way. Instead, we are called to give thanks in all situations — the good, the difficult, and the ordinary. When we practice gratitude, we shift our focus from what we lack to what we have, and we invite God’s presence into every part of our lives.

Personally, over my 17 years serving here at Hanging Rock I continue to be thankful for all of our supporters. I am reminded often, how many times I have asked. Asked for help, asked for donations, asked for support. Every time, I have asked, you as Churches and supporters have always responded. I am very grateful for you.

Let this season inspire a lifestyle of thankfulness that endures all year long.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Gary Baker

PS. Yes, I am asking again. But please keep the Lilly grant in your prayers. We should be hearing something the first part of December.

From the Program Director

Our 2026 Camp Calendar is HERE!

We are so excited to release our summer camp schedule! We have a camp for all ages k-12! We are moving paintball camps to boys only & Horse camps to girls only. We also have moved our fishing camp to a fall event which we will post more details later on. Horse camps are also moving to just a weekend camp no matter the age. We are so excited to see what God has in store for 2026!

Wheeler Foundation Grant

We are so grateful for the grant we have received from the Wheeler Foundation. Not only will we have handicapped bathrooms for all 8 dorms, but this provides us with private bathrooms for the staff and faculty for camp.  The total cost of all 8 bathrooms was $173,000. We want to thank Royce Nixon and his team for the great job of adding this to our dorms.  We have one more Wheeler grant project to complete and that is our cabin. Wheeler is giving us $60,000 towards this and we pray we get another $60,000 from Lilly. We will know the first part of December if we received this.

“

The relationships that I made at Hanging Rock are some of the best relationships I have. I wouldn't trade them for anything.

-Luc Sitz (Pool Manager)

“

It is so rewarding to see the impact on the campers throughout the week. By the end of the week, the campers are wholeheartedly in love with Jesus.
