We are making good progress with our matching grant from the Lilly Endowment Foundation. We have been given a $1,000,000 to match that we have spread out over several projects. The board has organized the list according to priorities.
#1 was to match $37,500 for a kitchen remodel. That money has been raised and spent. If you haven't seen the new look of the kitchen, you should definitely come take a look. We are very close to finishing number two on this list. Which was $35,000 to match for new bunkbeds throughout Main camp, we are so close to the goal on this one. The boys dorm has been outfitted with the new beds already. The girl's will be coming up here in the next few weeks we hope, with your help. Number three is going to be a challenge to raise $100,000. We feel this is very important for the success and long-term stability of Hanging Rock. We really need to update some of the electrical and plumbing, flooring, gutters, and camp houses. If we do not take care of what we have, then there will be a day that Hanging Rock will not be the quality that we have had in the past. To maintain the quality and to continue to bring sustainability to this ministry number three in the list is very important. By matching $100,000 it will give us $200,000 to put into our aging buildings. Did you realize that the Bunkhouse (House of EVE) was built in the 70's. It's one of the buildings that will need a complete re-wiring of the electrical.
1. Kitchen - $75,000 - Need to raise $37,500. - Finished. We have matched these funds.
2. New bunkbeds for the retreat center and the bunkhouse. - $70,000- Need to raise $1,000.
3. Existing Building Upgrades - $200,000. - Need to raise $100,000. What does this include?
- Re-wiring electric in some of our oldest buildings. HUGE Priority!
- Plumbing upgrades
- Flooring upgrades
4. Pool & Bathhouse Renovation - $305,000 - Need to raise $152,500 What does this include?
- New Slide!!!
- Expanding the bathhouse
- Expanding pool deck
- New filter system
- New liner for dive pool
5. 3 New Cabins - $400,000 - Need to raise $200,000. This will add an additional 54 beds. It will match the current Cabin that was just completed.
6. Remodeling current office into first aid station and building a new office building closer to the road in a more prominent location. -$750,000- Need to match $375,000
7. Land Acquisition - $200,000 - Need to raise $100,000 - This will help us purchase the land that our wells are on across the highway.
So, here we go. We need your help. We need your family, we need your friends. This is the BIGGEST match Hanging Rock has had. What a blessing this is. But, we need your help.
