Start your day with fresh air and movement. Join Croton's Bird Commissioner, Cary, for a guided bird walk to learn about birds and try to spot them while exploring nature. Whether you're an experienced birder or simply looking for a peaceful way to support your mental well-being, this walk is for you. The upcoming bird walk will be at Huguenot Park. As the United States reflects on the 250th anniversary of independence, the Institute for Thomas Paine Studies’ Seventh Biannual Conference will explore how Indigenous nations, Bacon’s Rebellion and other histories of resistance shaped ideas about revolution and independence before 1776. “America’s ‘First Revolution’” will be a fully hybrid program featuring panels that examine the evolving meanings of rebellion, revolution and independence. The conference is free and open to the public.

Put your creativity to the test in this fast-paced branding challenge. Build your personal brand from the ground up by designing a landing page, developing a logo concept, and crafting a memorable slogan you can continue to grow throughout college. Whether you're an aspiring entrepreneur, creator, or simply looking to stand out, this is a fun way to explore branding, creativity, and innovation.

When: Friday, September 25, noon–2 p.m.
Where: Hynes Institute (Spellman Hall, second floor)

Freshman and transfer students are invited to step away for a day of rest, connection, and prayer. In a peaceful, scenic setting, take time to slow down, recharge, and reflect on your transition to college while building community with other first-year students.

The retreat includes yoga, meditation, guided reflection, conversations with upperclass students, community-building activities, a BBQ, and games. Breakfast, lunch, and transportation are provided.
