Student Spotlight: Zipporah Prescott
Zipporah is majoring in human resource management and general management, with a minor in accounting, and will graduate this May. She has been accepted into the Student Affairs in Higher Education graduate program and is excited to continue here at IUP to pursue her master’s degree. Zipporah is a head resident assistant and part of the Residence Hall Association and National Residence Hall Honorary, and she holds the national communications coordinator position. She is an honorary member of Rho Alpha Sigma (RA fraternity) and a national member of the Society for Human Resource Management. Zipporah is a Promising Scholar and was a mentor for the Crimson Scholars Circle during its first cohort. She is an elite member of the URBN Dance Group and a member of Collegiate Women in Progress (CWIP). Zipporah is a cofounder and vice president of IUP-SAR (Students Against Racism), for which she helped lead conversations on racial injustice and microaggressions. We thank you, Zipporah!
Staff Spotlight: Jeremy Risinger
Jeremy is the assistant director for Student Success in the University College. He works with the Crimson Scholars Circle, an early immersion experience and yearlong support program designed to reduce the retention and persistence gap for Black and Brown students at IUP. Jeremy assists with the Promising Scholars Program, a competitive scholarship program for Pennsylvania students that provides academic support and professional development opportunities. Additionally, he works with IUP’s Act 101 program, a state-funded program that supports academically and financially disadvantaged students in college. In all of his roles, Jeremy helps our students achieve success. We thank you, Jeremy!
