As mentioned over the last several months, Stevens is consolidating cloud storage platforms to improve productivity, collaboration, accessibility, and security for our community.
On April 1, 2023, Box will be read-only for the Stevens community. Faculty and staff members will be unable to edit, modify, write or delete files on Box. The Division of IT has worked with 90% of departments, divisions and schools across campus to migrate data from Google and Box to OneDrive and SharePoint.
Please ensure all of your data on Box has been migrated or is planned to be migrated by IT in the next few weeks. For a list of the departments who have been migrated to SharePoint and OneDrive visit stevens.edu/cloudstorage.
If you have personal business data, not departmental data, that needs to be migrated from Google or Box we recommend you use the free mover.io tool to do so. View the Knowledge Base articles for step-by-step instructions on how to migrate your Box and Google Drive data.
On April 30, 2023, Box will no longer be available for the Stevens community. Faculty and staff members will be unable to access Stevens Box shares. Keep in mind that you may still access files or folders shared with you and owned by someone outside of Stevens.
Microsoft OneDrive (5TB per user) is recommended for individual user data and SharePoint for departmental data. Microsoft should be utilized for all sensitive data, but Google (10 GB per user) is still available for non-sensitive data. Please note that as with all Stevens computing resources, these storage platforms may not be used in violation of the Security Policy or Digital Copyright and DMCA requirements.
For more information on the project timeline and departmental migration process, please visit stevens.edu/cloudstorage. IT will be updating the website regularly to ensure users have the most up-to-date information.
