| Dear Vanderbilt Families,
Congratulations on joining our Vanderbilt community! We are excited to welcome you and your student. As the vice provost for student affairs and dean of students, I am privileged to take a central role in your student’s learning, development and undergraduate experience.
Our dedicated Student Affairs team is committed to fostering vibrant, inclusive communities on campus that enhance each student’s sense of belonging and well-being. We do this through a holistic network of resources and by building meaningful relationships with our students. Our goal is to help them successfully navigate what it means to be a Vanderbilt student.

Family Weekend registration opens Aug. 1 |
We can’t wait for you to join us on campus for Family Weekend, Sept. 19–21! The weekend will offer opportunities for connection with your student, university leadership and fellow Commodores. Below are some helpful tips so you can be ready to register:
- We encourage families to arrive early. Accommodations fill up quickly! Find planning resources like hotel discounts and things to do around Nashville on our Visiting Nashville page.
- Check out the weekend schedule before you register so you can tell us if you plan to attend our Signature Events. These are our biggest events of the weekend, and it is helpful for us to know how many families to expect.
- Look out for our pre-registration email next week. It will include detailed instructions on how to register for Family Weekend as well as information on purchasing tickets to Saturday’s football game against Georgia State.

Fall semester invoices will be available on or around Aug. 1. Your student will need to grant access to anyone who needs to view or pay their e-bill. Once access is granted, you can view a tutorial of the billing portal.
The payment deadline for fall semester charges is Aug. 31. There are two payment options: direct payment or Vandy Plan. Vandy Plan is an interest-free monthly payment option that allows you to spread your expenses over a set period. Instructions for both options are available online.
If you have questions about setting up your e-bill account or other billing questions, please contact Student Accounts at student.accounts@vanderbilt.edu or 615-322-6693.

Student Health & Wellness |
A variety of services are available to students at Vanderbilt that assist in their overall well-being. From the Student Health Center to Student Care Network, students will have a place to go no matter what type of health matter they are facing.
It is important that your student arrive on campus with an understanding of their specific health care needs. The Parent and Family Programs office has compiled helpful information explaining on-campus and off-campus health practices and what students can do before their arrival on campus.

Join our Facebook group for parents and guardians |
The Vanderbilt Parents and Families Facebook Group is private and solely for parents and guardians of current Vanderbilt University students. It was created to engage, inform and connect members of this community. It is a great place to ask questions to others who have been in your position and to be updated about new ways to get involved with Vanderbilt.
Please note that this is the only parent Facebook group affiliated with and supported by the university.
