See who took home top honors and learn about the UC-Wide Grad Slam Final
And the winner is...
Kacie Ring took top honors with her talk "Healthy Forests, Healthy Humans" in the campus’ 11th annual Grad Slam Showcase, which features graduate students from diverse fields as they compete in the art of the three-minute research talk.
Now she will take her talk to the next level, competing at the UC-system wide competition, emceed by UC President Michael Drake, at LinkedIn’s headquarters in San Francisco. Be sure to tune in on Friday, May 3 to vote for Kacie in the People's Choice Award!

Ring on stage for her 3-minute talk during the UCSB Grad Slam Showcase Final Round on Friday, April 5

As the UCSB champion, Ring won $2,000, and she’s not the only one who walked off the stage with money in her pockets. The panel of judges also selected runners-up Royce Olarte and Nākoa Farrant, who each received $1,000. The audience selected the People’s Choice winner Daniella Walter for the $500 prize.
