2023

AND BEYOND

Strengthen your heart for the Lord in one of our retreats in 2026

We’re looking to engage more people to volunteer with projects and camp.

We are looking for more individuals that will support the work of camp, by helping to offset the cost.

A NOTE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

As we look to a new year, I am filled with gratitude and hope for what lies ahead. The close of 2025 offers us the opportunity to reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and renew our commitment to the mission that binds us together.

This past year, we have deepened our impact, thanks to the unwavering support of our churches & individuals like you—our dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and steadfast partners. Together, we’ve reached more campers than ever in the history of Hanging Rock.

Your belief in our work inspires us every day to strive for excellence and to never lose sight of the purpose at the heart of our mission.

As we enter 2026, I am optimistic about what we can accomplish together. We have created a vision statement that will lead us in the next few years as we accomplish what the Lord has blessed us with.

Our vision for Hanging Rock Christian Camp is;

“To build and sustain a thriving Christian camp where guests experience rest, renewal, and a deepening relationship with God and others through continued investment in our facilities, programs, and hospitality to meet the evolving needs of a growing ministry.”

Hopefully, everything you see us doing in the next few years will be to that end.

On behalf of our entire team and board of directors, we wish you and your loved ones a joyful New Year filled with health, happiness, and hope. Thank you for walking this path with us and for believing in the power of Christian Camping to make a difference.

Happy New Year,
Gary Baker

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON THE LILLY ENDOWMENT GRANT.

God has really blessed Hanging Rock with the gift of this grant: Here is a timeline of projects that we will be working using the resources of the grant.

January -May - New Waste Treatment Plant, New Septic Lines and Manholes will be installed.

March-May - New Cabin will be built, sleeping 18.

March - May - Parking will be added plus a new exit to 263.

January - March - New well put in near the wilderness camp.

September - December - New Maintenance Shop will be built.

What this Lilly Endowment will not accomplish:                                                                                As you can see to the left is the timeline of all the projects that we will be accomplishing with this grant. But we want you to know, we still need you to help us with offsetting the cost of camp. We will still need our churches and individuals to walk beside us as we provide a place for kids to learn and grow in Christ.    We have been able to offer camp at the cost that we charge because of our supporting churches and individuals like you.  We still need you to help us with the cost of camp.                                                                                          Please know, we want to continue to offer camp at an affordable rate so we can reach as many as possible with the Gospel of Christ.

Remodeling the Kitchen 2026

Some of the items we are going to accomplish are as follows: adding floor space by expanding toward the seating area,  adding a wall to provide a sound barrier between the kitchen and the dining hall, so as not be a distraction when groups are meeting in there. If you have ever gotten anything out of the freezer, you know it is a nightmare being outside like it is. We are going to rotate the freezer and be able to access it from inside through knocking out some of the wall and framing the freezer entrance in the wall. Also, it can get rather hot back in the kitchen, while we are cooking. Currently there is no air conditioning in that space. So, one of the big items would be adding a/c to the kitchen area. There are upgrades to equipment as well.  Adding a new 3 door fridge, a new oven/stove combo that also has a griddle, more prep space, update shelves and storage areas, along with several other items we would like to get accomplished.
