Program: Visiting Fellowship
Synopsis: Supports writers, researchers, and creators with the unique opportunity to spend a month in Paris working independently on their own creative project while contributing to the cultural life of the Library. In addition to working on their own project, Fellows present a public program during their residency that engages their audience and members around a central theme. The theme for 2025-2026 is Ways of Seeing, a theme that invites exploration of how we perceive and interpret the world through art, literature, media, and culture. Among other stipulations, Fellow must commit to spending 3.5 days in library with gratis library membership.
Award details: Stipend of $5K for one month, between September 2025 and June 2026.

Synopsis: Supports environmental art projects led by women-identifying artists in the United States and U.S. Territories. Brady Education Foundation
Program: Research Project Proposals
Synopsis: Supports educational research that will inform future education research, practice, philanthropic funding, and / or public policy. Strong collaborative relationships between researchers and practitioners and other community stakeholders (as appropriate) are encouraged. The Foundation favors projects that include a member of the team (not necessarily the PI) who has experience leading projects of similar or greater scope. Applicants at all career stages may apply. Teams are evaluated in terms of their abilities to successfully carry out the proposed work. Applications that include both early career scholars and more experienced scholars in the leadership team (PI / co-PI level) are welcomed.
Award details: Budget requests should include applicable direct costs for a project period of 3 years. The budget should include indirect costs at a rate of 10%. Projects of $50K or less are not eligible for indirect costs.

Sociological Initiatives Foundation
Program: 2025 Call for Proposals: Community-Based Participatory Research Projects
Synopsis: Supports research that focuses on improving services and systems and increasing positive social and physical conditions through Policy development; Placement and shaping of the policy agenda; Policy adoption or implementation; Policy blocking; Increasing advocacy capacity and political influence; Shaping public sentiment; Addressing challenges related to language and literacy. In the context of social and racial inequality dating back centuries, the Foundation supports projects that address institutional rather than individual or behavioral change. It seeks to fund research and initiatives that provide insight into sociological and linguistic issues that can help specific groups and or communities expand opportunities and challenge injustices. Projects that represent the work of one lone academic without an ongoing partnership with a community organization will not be considered.
Award details: Grant size generally ranges from $15K to $25K.

The Calvin K. Kazanjian Economics Foundation

Program: Scholarships and Pathways in Neuroscience
Synopsis: Supports and promotes diversity in science while offering a unique opportunity in one of the nation’s leading neurology and neurosurgery hospitals. Awardees spend a year at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, benefiting from hands-on experience, networking with experts and peers, learning from leaders in the field, and a range of research areas, including nanomedicine, Alzheimer’s disease, blood-brain barrier and drug delivery, and gene therapy and discovery. Eligible, applicants are U.S. citizens or permanent residents ages 18 or older, third- or fourth-year undergraduate, graduate, or currently enrolled in medical school or awaiting acceptance to medical school or a residency program.
Award details: Scholars will receive an annual salary commensurate with their education and research experience; $6K for housing expenses; and an additional $4K to offset the cost of relocating to Los Angeles for one year.

Synopsis: Supports scholarly research in the life sciences, specifically neurobiology. It is the Foundation's policy to assist those dynamic areas of basic biological research that are not heavily supported by federal agencies or other foundations with specialized missions. In order to respond to the changing environment, the Whitehall Foundation periodically reassesses the need for financial support by the various fields of biological research. While Whitehall support does not target investigators with substantial extramural support, Whitehall does support both young investigators early in their careers and senior investigators who wish to move into new areas of interest.
Award details: Research Grants: Maximum award $100K per year for 2-3 years for established investigators; Grants-in-aid: Maximum award is $30K for one year. Grants-in-aid support specifically targets investigators at the assistant professor level who are challenged with funding as they firmly establish themselves.

In addition to research designed to answer scientific questions and generate new ideas and hypotheses, the development of technology and computational approaches are supported. Within the scope of the MIRA, investigators will have the freedom to explore new avenues of inquiry that arise during the course of their research, as long as they remain within the mission of NIGMS. Work involving the addition of human subjects, vertebrate animals, stem cells, select agents, or a new foreign component would require prior approval by NIGMS staff according to existing policies and procedures.
