The Business Hub continues to evolve with enhancements that make it easier for users to find the information and resources they need. In September 2025, a new search feature was added to the Business Hub Dashboard, making it easier for users to search for and find information from across the Hub.
This update not only improves the user experience, but it also provides BOSS with valuable insight into what users are searching for most. With this new data, we can continue to expand our FAQs, guides, and resources to better meet the needs of Pennsylvania’s entrepreneurs.

Annual Report Filing Dates |
All registered business/non-profit entities—except fictitious names and general partnerships—are required to file an Annual Report.
The annual reporting filing dates are as follows:
|
- June 30: Corporations (both business and nonprofit)
- September 30: LLCs (domestic and foreign)
- December 31: LPs, LLPs, Business Trusts, and Professional Associations
|
Annual reports do not replace the annual Certificate of Annual Registration filing for a PLLC. Restricted professional LLCs, limited liability partnerships (LLP), and limited liability limited partnerships (LLLP) must continue to file a Certificate of Annual Registration every year.
Both filings can be filed electronically in the Department of State’s Business Filing Services (BFS) system by following the same path to amend or close a business. For assistance with accessing the Certificate of Annual Registration refer to the Amend an Existing Business in BFS help guide. For assistance with filing the Annual Report in Business Filing Services, refer to the Complete an Annual Filing in BFS help guide.

Generative AI in State Government |
The Office of Administration is taking a thoughtful approach to generative AI, encouraging innovation while keeping information safe and secure. Following an executive order from Governor Josh Shapiro, the Commonwealth launched a pilot program using ChatGPT Enterprise and created a Generative AI Governing Board to guide its safe and effective use across state agencies.
The BOSS is also exploring how generative AI could be used to improve the way we serve Pennsylvania’s entrepreneurs, making information easier to find and support more responsive to your needs.
