Gather AI Inks Partnership to Distribute Warehouse Inventory Drones Across 20 U.S. Locations

Gather AI announced it inked a dealer network distribution partnership with Burwell Material Handling, a first-of-its-kind partnership for the startup. The local startup utilizes deep learning artificial intelligence software and cameras mounted to autonomous drones and other equipment to scan and itemize warehouse inventory faster than traditional means.

SWARTZ CENTER SPOTLIGHTS
The Swartz Center's CONNECTS Series Returns for the Fall

The CONNECTS/START SMART LEGAl seminar series will return starting Tuesday, September 9, 2025. The seminars aim to enhance the experiential education of any individual interested in innovation and entrepreneurship. Tailored mainly for students to help take their ideas from conception to commercialization, the seminars run throughout the fall semester. Teams looking for talent and talent looking for teams can CONNECT at these events.

All CONNECTS events will be hosted in person at the CMU Swartz Center on the 3rd floor of the Tepper Quad, or virtually via zoom.

EKTO VR Equity Crowdfunding Campaign Closes
August 28th!

EKTO VR, a CMU Swartz Center, Project Olympus and Venture Bridge company, is solving cybersickness and improving immersion with its robotic footwear system. Founder Brad Factor is inviting his CMU and Pittsburgh community to join the ride as investors through an equity crowdfunding campaign as the company prepares to launch its consumer line immediately after it closes on August 28, 2025.

Investment group members have behind-the-scenes access, opportunities to voice their ideas, invites to private events and more. Investments start at $100.

Apply for the 2025-27 Swartz Fellows Cohort by October 5


Are you a CMU first-year graduate student interested in entrepreneurship, exploring a startup or working on your own while joining a network of startup-minded students? Applications for the 2025-27 cohort of James R. Swartz Entrepreneurial Fellows will open on Sunday, August 17 at 11:59 PM ET. The Swartz Fellows program is a two-year program that fast-tracks the careers of CMU's graduate students who are passionate about entrepreneurship.

This highly selective program develops each Fellow's entrepreneurial potential and leadership skills through hands-on experiences, networking, mentoring and courses in entrepreneurship. At the program's core is a mentored summer internship with a top-tier VC-backed startup within the high-tech, high-growth environment of California's Silicon Valley and San Francisco (Bay area encouraged but not required) or another area of preference.
