We want to welcome the newest Class of 1969 Teaching Fellows! This program gathers an interdisciplinary group of early career faculty for pedagogically-focused support and professional development. Participants explore evidence-based best practices and innovative teaching methods with support from the Class of 1969 Teaching and Learning Endowment Fund. Harnessing AI Tools for Effective Teaching

Join CTL and the Library for a faculty panel exploring practical strategies to integrate generative AI tools into teaching practices. Panelists Lesley Baradel, Rodrigo Borela Valente, Moinak Choudhury, and Tatiana Rudchenko will explore ways AI can enhance student learning and lead to more effective instruction.

Design Accessible PDFs with LaTeX

Oct. 21, 11 a.m.-noon, Virtual via Zoom

Recent updates to the LaTeX kernel have made it possible to make most standard documents more accessible for students with vision-related disabilities. During this workshop, we'll explore how accessible documents benefit all students, discuss some basic examples, and then learn how to enable the new features.

Community of Practice on College Teaching with the UN SDGs

Join this multi-institutional community of practice on teaching with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)! Faculty at the University of Georgia, Kennesaw State University, and Auburn University will share examples from diverse disciplines that illustrate how to enhance teaching and learning by using the SDGs as a framework for real-world problem-solving.

Teaching with Technology Roundtable: Exploring Generative AI to Support UDL

Nov. 13, 10-11 a.m., Clough 466A or Zoom

We'll discuss how Generative AI tools can support Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles in higher education. Whether you're new to UDL or experimenting with AI in your teaching, this collaborative conversation will offer ideas for enhancing access, representation, motivation, and flexibility in your course.

CTL and the Office of Experiential and Engaged Learning are seeking nominating portfolios from schools, departments, and programs across campus for Georgia Tech’s inaugural Excellence in High-Impact Practices and Experiential Learning Departmental Award. This award recognizes programs that demonstrate excellence in implementing high-impact practices to enhance student learning, engagement, and success.

C21U Learning Lab

Join C21U and discover how artificial intelligence can identify and develop key skills like leadership, communication, and collaboration. Jeonghyun (Jonna) Lee, Meryem Yilmaz Soylu, and Adrian Gallard will offer an inside look at a web app dashboard tool designed by the C21U team, then discuss use cases and the tool’s implications for lifetime learning and workforce innovation.

Active Learning

Discover how active learning strategies can make your lectures more interactive and impactful in this Ivan Allen workshop. Leah Carmichael, director of active learning at the University of Georgia, will share UGA’s innovative Active Learning Initiative and demonstrate how it connects classroom practices to global competencies.
