Reinstated project gets funding for highway safety work; Applied Research Lab shares summer hours; Vetter honored for contributions to Wikipedia; and more

The Federal Aviation Administration has designated IUP an FAA Collegiate Training Institution, making the university’s Unmanned Aerial Systems Science and Applications Certificate program part of the FAA’s collegiate training initiative for drone use. IUP is the only Pennsylvania university to receive this designation.
UNIVERSITY NEWS
The Institute for Rural Health and Safety has received $104,000 in federal funding for its recently reinstated Indiana County Highway Safety Project, which promotes safe driving across the region. Amy Shellhammer, project director, talks about upcoming activities, including an awareness campaign around the Fourth of July.
