ICTS Research Development Program Calls for Letters of Intent for Spring NIH Mock Study Section (MSS)

The ICTS Research Development Program will host the Winter NIH Mock Study Section (MSS) for clinical and translational grants on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Participants will be able to:  

  • Learn about the NIH process 
  • Make your NIH R, K or F series grant competitive
  • Receive timely feedback  

Letters of Intent due: February 18, 2026 (by 5pm CT)  
Full proposals (if invited) due: March 11, 2026 (by 5pm CT)  
Mock Study Section: April 15, 2026  (8:00am - 4:00pm CT) (Zoom virtual meeting – invitation only)

Articles from WashU-developed Translational Science Benefits Model (TSBM) Published in Frontiers in Public Health Journal 

A peer-reviewed, expert-curated collection of articles on the Translational Science Benefits Model (TSBM) has been published by the journal Frontiers in Public Health. Such collections, called Research Topics, bring together research communities to write, review, and publish new work on important themes in the field, spreading awareness of emerging concepts and stimulating collaboration. The TSBM has been used by scientists from hundreds of research institutions worldwide since its inception in 2018.

Clinical Research Training Center (CRTC) Calls for Applications for KL2 Career Development Awards

The KL2 Career Development Awards Program provides high-quality, multidisciplinary training in clinical and translational research to promote the career development of future clinical investigators. This program provides financial support and benefits that allow scholars to focus on mentored, multidisciplinary research, supplemented by applicable coursework. Letters of Intent to apply for the program are due by January 25, 2026.

Sign Up to Attend the Spring Bioinformatics Workshop (BFX)!

The Bioinformatics (BFX) workshop launches its Spring content on January 12, 2026! Join in to learn about genomic data analysis with a combination of lectures and hands-on examples. Course credit is available, and there is no cost or prerequisites for the workshop. The course is held in person at 10:00 am on Mondays during the academic year. Lectures are recorded and posted for reference. A live-stream option may be available for ICTS members outside of Washington University.

Save the Date for Love Data Week – February 9-13, 2026

Love Data Week is a week’s worth of events centered on all things data! A highlight of the week is the 2nd Annual WashU Data Visualization Competition, where participants compete to transform a provided data set into an engaging visual story, either individually or as part of a team. Entries for the competition are due by January 25, 2026. Register to attend any Love Data Week presentations or workshops via the website!

CRTC Welcomes Distinguished Physician, Author, and Lecturer for 2-Day Seminar Series

Over a two-day, three-session series, John Abramson, MD, will guide attendees through compelling discussions on innovating and improving our health care system ethically and effectively. Abramson is a lecturer at Harvard Medical School who has devoted his research to the quality of medical information physicians rely on and serves as an expert in litigation involving prescription drugs and medical devices. Registration is required for each individual event on February 9 and 10, 2026.

The ICTS supports an ongoing, collaborative effort in the Just-In-Time (JIT) Core Usage Funding Program, designed to provide quick access to funding to use any of the affiliated Cores for research advancing medical knowledge that can improve human health.

ICTS Precision Health Innovation Awards
The ICTS Precision Health Innovation Awards provide up to $25,000 for research on rare diseases within precision health. Short applications with rapid turnaround are accepted on a rolling basis. Preference is for applications from independent faculty investigators for early-stage projects.

Clinical Research Training Center (CRTC) Seeks Applications for TL1 Translational Sciences Postdoctoral Program!
The scope of the TL1 postdoctoral program is translational science from bench-to-bedside and bedside-to-bench research. The program has the broad ability to include research projects in late-stage preclinical, first-in-human, clinical, translational, patient-oriented research, population health and community engagement, and biomedical informatics. Applications are due by January 31, 2026.

The Genomics in Medicine seminar series offers attendees a practical background in molecular biology and genetics, an introduction to genomics technologies and research, and an understanding of the clinical application of genomics knowledge.
