Dear Parent,

On Wednesday, March 5th, we begin the Lenten season. All of the students, teachers, and staff will have the opportunity to attend Mass on Ash Wednesday and receive ashes. During this special season we are asked to examine our relationship with God and other people, make amends for past wrongs, and plan ways to love and be of service to others.

This year during Lent our students, teachers, and staff will focus on acts of kindness. I am excited to witness the positive impact these acts will have on others. I truly believe kindness goes a long way!

I want to take this opportunity to thank our families for supporting our two outreach efforts during Catholic Schools Week. The donation of toiletries to the Divine Mercy Pantry really helped those who use the pantry. The items we collected are no longer available to clients receiving SNAP support, so having the items to hand out at the pantry really will help those who need them.

The money collected on our dress down day went directly to our sister school San Ildefonso in Guatemala. Thank you for always supporting these efforts.

On Friday, February 28, the third quarter of school will be completed. We will have approximately 10 weeks of school left before we break for summer. As the weather changes and the days get longer, it is hard to keep focused. I encourage you to continue to expect the very best from your child. They have worked so hard, and we want each child to finish strong. Thank you!

My prayer is that you all experience a holy Lent and grow closer to God through your words and actions.

Lenten Project

This Lenten season our students, teachers, and staff will be lifting each other up with kindness. Everyone will be asked to share acts of kindness shown towards others. Throughout Lent, these good deeds will be counted, and a classroom “kindness jar” will be filled.

Parents please talk with your children about how they can show kindness towards others.

These acts of kindness remind us of the love Jesus shows us and we can show each other.

 -Hold the door for someone

 -Give your classmate a compliment

-Offer to play or sit with someone you normally don’t

-Pick up scraps without being asked

-Pick up paper towels in the bathroom

-Say “thank you” when you are given your lunch tray.

Spring Break

The week of March 10-17 is Spring Break. School will resume on Tuesday March 18.

Enjoy your time with family and friends.

Be safe!

Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week

The week of March 17 is Teacher Appreciation Week. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents and students to acknowledge all the effort the teachers make on their behalf. Notes from students and parents are keepsakes long after a student has graduated. Please take a few moments to express your gratitude. Thank you!
