New Year, New Beginnings

Our New Academic Year Begins 2023-2024

Mass of the Holy Spirit and the Opening Academic Exercise

Join us virtually!

Today, Monday, September 18, we will mark the opening of the new academic year with two important events.

The Mass of the Holy Spirit to open the year will be celebrated at 4:30 pm.

The Opening Academic Exercises (Convivium Academicum) will take place at 7:30 pm, with Fr. Alfredo I. Hernández, Rector/President, giving an address on the theme for our new year of formation: “Behold, I make all things new” (Rev 21:5), with a particular focus on the ways that our academic program is being “made new” in response to the Program for Priestly Formation, sixth edition, the governing document for US seminaries, which went into effect on August 4, 2023.

If you would like to share in this beautiful liturgy and in this academic event, both events will be live streamed (accessible at www.svdp.edu/live or www.facebook.com/SVdPSem).

RECENTLY ORDAINED WORKSHOP

January 8 - 11, 2024

Each year St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary plans a workshop for priests ordained within the last five years.

The workshop offers opportunities for learning, prayer, mutual support and relaxation. This year Mr. Brett Powell (see Bio) will present There is No Such Thing as Servant Leadership: A workshop that will redefine pastoral leadership for the new apostolic age. See details here.
