Join us for Family Fest 2024!

Family Fest at UW-Whitewater is a vibrant annual event that brings together students, families, and the community for a weekend of celebration and connection. There are evening events on Friday, Oct. 4, and more fun on Saturday, Oct. 5. Highlights include a Family Feast at Esker, a comedian, a special showing of “Inside Out 2,” the Warhawk football game, and more!

Build your own LEGO set at LEGO Night on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. in the Warhawk Connection Center! Snacks and refreshments will be provided while supplies last, and LEGO prizes will be awarded to attendees at random. Warhawks get in free with their HawkCard!

A total of 156 students will represent UW-Whitewater as student teachers at schools in Wisconsin, Illinois and other neighboring states during the 2024 fall semester.

UW-Whitewater reveals 2024 football roster

The UW-Whitewater football team started its 2024 season with two impressive non-conference wins. The Warhawks, who host Mary Hardin-Baylor this Saturday at Perkins Stadium, are ranked third in the nation by D3football.com and the American Football Coaches Association.

Kudos to Rebecca Harris, disability services advisor, and Molly Grodey, disability services and assistant technology coordinator, of the Center for Students with Disabilities, who collaborated to secure the Universities of Wisconsin Student Success Mini Grant. The funds will be used to pilot a student ambassador program for the spring 2025 semester. Learn more »

UW-Whitewater recently announced a partnership with Gateway Technical College on a direct admission program for Gateway students who earn an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree.

Charlie Hart Sheehan, a graduate student in the Master of Social Work program, works as a peer specialist to help others recover from drug addiction and as a jail transition coordinator in Waukesha County. Charlie’s work as a champion of Narcon, an opioid reversal drug, was recently featured in a story on TMJ-4 in Milwaukee.

Prepare for the Hawk Internship and Career Fair

UW-Whitewater’s Career Services office is hosting a pair of events to help students get ready for the Hawk Internship and Career Fair on Oct. 2.

 

Career Fair Pregame - Wednesday, Sept. 25, 4:30-7 p.m., UC 259
Career Services staff members and employer partners will host a variety of resource stations to help you research and prepare. Free nonalcoholic "mocktails," light appetizers, and professional headshot photos will be available.

 

Resume Cafés - now through Tuesday, Oct. 1, various dates, times and locations

Is your resume ready? Career Services will be hosting 17 Resume Café sessions to provide resume feedback to make your resume stand out to employers.

Elections panels begin Sept. 25

Join the Departments of History and the Department of Politics, Government, and Law for a three-event series covering topics in elections and voting as the 2024 elections approach. All panels will take place in Hyland Hall room 1306. Panelists are UW-Whitewater faculty members from the two departments.
