Delegation now possible for direct reports

Starting this week, supervisors can assign specific tasks to their direct reports in Workday. Note that delegating tasks beyond one level in your supervisory organization will result in an error. 

How to delegate a task: 

1. In Workday, click the "My Tasks" icon located at the top right of your screen next to your profile photo. 

2. Choose "Manage Delegations." 

Delegations are intended for short-term task reassignments, such as when you're on vacation, and not for ongoing changes.

What’s happening in Phase II? 

Workday Learning – Spring 2026 

Workday Learning helps organizations deliver, manage, and track employee training in one place. It supports onboarding, compliance training, skill development, and continuous learning through courses, videos, and learning paths, with personalized recommendations for employees. 

Workday Advanced Compensation – Spring 2026 

Workday Advanced Compensation helps organizations design, manage, and administer complex compensation programs. It supports salary increases, bonuses, equity awards, and pay-for-performance planning while ensuring consistency, fairness, and budget control. 

Workday Adaptive Planning - 2027 

Workday Adaptive Planning enables organizations to plan, budget, forecast, and analyze business performance. It helps finance and business teams model different scenarios, track actuals versus plans, and make faster, data-driven decisions. 

Workday Talent & Performance - 2027 

Workday Talent & Performance supports employee development by managing goals, performance reviews, feedback, and career planning. It helps align individual performance with business objectives and provides insights to identify and develop future leaders. 

 

Phase II Town Hall January 13th 

Join us on Tuesday, January 13 at 11am for the Phase II Town Hall. Open to all faculty and staff, this is your opportunity to hear an update on the team's progress in the second phase of the Workday implementation and have your questions answered. The session will be recorded for those who are unable to attend.

Important update regarding retroactive leave

Retroactive time off can be added directly in Workday, eliminating the need for manual timesheets and making it more convenient if you need to adjust time after submitting your timesheet. However, please note that absences can only be submitted retroactively if they were taken in the last 30 days.  

This is an important reminder for both employees and supervisors to ensure time is submitted promptly and accurately. Timely submission helps maintain correct records and ensures compliance with payroll and leave policies.
