Welcome to Workday Watch—a resource designed to keep you informed with timely updates and helpful insights. Each edition is shaped by the questions and feedback we receive through the Workday Support Portal. Time & Absence Reminder Emails |
Time and Absence deadline reminder emails have been updated and now come from notifications@workday.wm.edu. These reminders are sent to all faculty and staff to help ensure you submit your time and absences on time. If you established any mailbox rules to direct notifications using the sender, you’ll need to update your rules to use the new from address.
Reminder: Exempt employees do not need to submit timesheets but are still required to report absences. Keeping an eye out for these emails will help you stay compliant with submission deadlines.

While the Change Management team is actively conducting roundtables across campus, they also want to hear directly from the broader campus community regarding potential Workday enhancements. If you have feedback or suggestions that could improve your experience, please submit the Workday Enhancement Form and let the team know your thoughts!

|
Workday Process Optimization Form |
One of the common themes in the roundtables is that processes are taking longer than they used to. To help us quantify the extra time you are spending on certain processes, please fill out the Workday Process Time Analysis Form. Select a process and provide information about how often you complete it, as well as the average time it takes in Workday and how long it used to take in Banner. Your feedback helps us identify areas for improvement and support changes to make your experience easier.

Reporting Crosswalk Update |
The Reporting Crosswalk has been updated to show which reports were previously available in Banner, Qlik, or Argos, and what their equivalent is now in Workday. This resource is designed to help you quickly identify where to find the information you need within the new system.
If you don't see a specific report listed, please submit a ticket.

Banner Student Integration with Workday |
Student financial data from Banner Student now transfers to Workday through an overnight feed, ensuring all activity is reflected in Workday reports by the next day. Departments can view student-related revenue and expenses—such as tuition, fees, scholarships, and grants—directly in the general ledger. This integration benefits departmental fiscal offices by enhancing financial visibility and supporting more accurate reporting and informed decision-making across campus.

How to Check your Time Off Balances |
Employees can use the "Time Off Balance" report in Workday to view their leave balances. NOTE: Users must select the 9th or the 24th in order to see their accrual rate in "Accrued in Period."
|
- "Accrued Year to Date"- that number will increase each pay period that you accrue annual leave.
- "Accrued in Period" - shows the accrual rate, only if users select the 9th or the 24th for the report date.
-
"Balance As of Date" - that number displays your current hourly balance as of the date of the report.
- "Beginning Year Balance" - For 2025 this column was pre-populated for all users. In 2026 it will reflect the accurate Beginning Year Balance

View your Team Calendar in Workday |
A recent enhancement in Workday now allows users assigned the "Department Admin" role to view the team calendar for their entire supervisory organization.
This update makes it easier to see when team members are out of the office, streamlining scheduling and coverage decisions. Having access to a comprehensive team calendar in Workday enhances visibility, coordination, and overall efficiency across your department.
