THIS WEEK AT CHRIST CHURCH, GEORGETOWN

SPECIAL NOTICES
Tuesday Evenings in Lent: This Lent, we invite you to join us for five evenings of fellowship and formation: March 11, 18, and 25, and April 1 and 8. Following a simple supper at 6:30 p.m. in Keith Hall, attendees will participate in one of three distinct opportunities for learning:
Questions from the World to the Church: Join us for a series of lectures and table discussions facilitated by eminent cultural theologians as we seek authentic responses to the world’s questions. Organized by Deacon Tiffany Clark in conjunction with a group of young professionals in the parish, the series will assist participants in bridging the gap between the Christian faith and the perspectives of family members, friends, neighbors, and colleagues, equipping them to speak openly, winsomely, and faithfully of Christ and his Church when organic opportunities arise. For more information and to register, click here.
April 1: Given the state of the world, how can we consider the possibility of God? - The Very Reverend Dr. Ian S. Markham, Dean and President of Virginia Theological Seminary and President of General Theological Seminary
April 8: How does prayer work? How can someone believe in God when their prayers go unanswered? - The Very Reverend Dr. Ian S. Markham
A Path towards Membership: Led by Father Nate Huddleston, this course is intended for those who are new to Christ Church and who would like to deepen their connection with and commitment to the parish community. For more information and to register, click here.
Adult Confirmation Class: Are you ready to take the next step in your spiritual journey? The Adult Confirmation Class is the official pathway to Confirmation in the Episcopal Church—a sacred opportunity to affirm your faith and commitment. (NOTE: If you come from the Roman Catholic tradition, this is the way to be formally received into the Episcopal Church.) Whether you are seeking to be confirmed or received, or simply want to deepen your understanding of the Anglican/Episcopal tradition, this class, led by the Rector, is for you. For more information or to register, click here.
At the conclusion of the evening, all will gather in the nave to recite the brief office of Compline. Professional nursery care for children four months of age and older, as well as developmentally appropriate, Lenten-themed art activities, will be available in the Chapel of Saint Jude. Questions? Contact the Parish Office.
Christ Church Career Connections: Conscious that many in DC may be between jobs, we’re reviving a program to connect job seekers with potential employers. If you’re looking for work, or know someone who is, Christ Church offers the opportunity to submit your resume to a confidential file. Those looking to hire can request access to relevant resumes and CVs. While we won’t list names publicly, we will share the areas in which people are seeking employment. Whether you’re job hunting or hiring, starting close to home might be a great option. To participate, send your resume and contact the Rector.
Christ Church Career Connections is a ministry dedicated to supporting parishioners in seasons of vocational transition. Through networking, mentorship, prayer, and practical resources, we walk alongside one another in the search for meaningful work and purpose.

Seasoned Lunch Club: Are you age 65+ and interested in spending time with others who are in the same season of life? Then join us for a new series of “come as you are” luncheons intended to provide senior (seasoned) parishioners and members of the wider community with the opportunity for fellowship, food, and fun. The next luncheon will be held on Thursday, March 27, at 11:45 a.m., in Keith Hall. For more information and to register, click here. If you enjoy spending time with senior (seasoned) citizens, please consider volunteering to assist with meal prep, service, and clean up.

Sunday Bag Lunches | Young Professionals: On March 30, Christ Church’s Young Professionals will gather for service and fellowship to support Georgetown Ministry Center (GMC) in its work with those in need. Starting at 4:00 p.m. in the church kitchen, we’ll prepare fifty lunches, continuing our commitment to CCG’s long standing partnership with GMC. After preparing the sandwiches, participants will attend the Evensong service at 5:00 p.m. If available to serve on March 30, kindly RSVP to Maggie Stewart, Porter Graham, or Krista Anderson.
Choral Evensong: The next service of Choral Evensong will take place on Sunday, March 30, at 5:00 p.m. The liturgy will include works by Thomas Morley and William Mundy, as well as plainsong. Wind Down Wednesday: On April 9, at 6pm, women of all levels of ability are welcome to come join a 45-minute gentle yoga practice (please bring your own mat) grounded in Sacred Scripture and prayerful reflection. Time for fellowship will follow with light refreshments provided. There is no cost for the event, however, monetary donations to N Street Village will be welcomed and accepted that evening. Any amount you are able to give makes a difference and is most appreciated. For more information and to register, click here.
Saint Francis Guild Volunteer Opportunity: Join members of the Saint Francis Guild, Christ Church’s animal welfare and creation care mission committee, in partnering with Georgetown neighbors to restore landscape designer Beatrix Farrand's only remaining wild garden. For more information or to register, click here.
Women’s Bible Study: All women of the parish and their guests are invited to participate in an exploration of the Book of Exodus, a captivating and poetic narrative that tells the story of God’s liberation of his people from slavery in Egypt and his gift of the law at Mount Sinai. The group will meet on Tuesdays, April 29, May 6 and 20, and June 3, at 6:00 p.m., in Keith Hall. Those who are unable to attend in person are welcome to participate virtually. For more information, contact Deacon Tiffany Clark.
A Call to Teach Sunday School: As the number of children attending our Sunday School continues to grow and as we prepare to move into the renovated Parish Hall, we are seeking additional adult teachers and volunteers to assist with our Sunday School program. In the words of parishioner and experienced Sunday School Teacher, Molly Peacock, “Teaching Sunday School is easier and harder than you think. One thing is sure: it is full of meaning, and opportunity to engage with our Lord and Savior right now. You’ll leave the mark of Grace on our future.” Amen, Mrs. Peacock.  Feeling called to learn more? Please contact Youth and Family Minister Chrissy Casey.
