Yale Reunion Giving Volunteer Newsletter

Summer 2024

Greetings from the Director

Chris Seager, Director of Reunion Giving
I hope you are enjoying a relaxing summer! In New Haven, August signals the dawn of a new academic year, yet we’re still clinging to the happy memories of reunions last spring. It was a joy to see so many of you on campus reconnecting with friends, introducing yourselves at the volunteer appreciation receptions, and celebrating during the reunion gift announcements. Each class’s final gift total is below.

Before we know it, the 0s and 5s will be convening on campus for their own reunions next spring. These events promise to be particularly meaningful since in-person reunions were canceled in New Haven for 2020. Plans are already underway for next year’s reunion gift campaigns, so if you would like to serve on your class’s gift committee, please contact us.
Warmly,
Chris Seager
Director, Reunion Giving

On July 1, Yale welcomed Maurie McInnis ’96 Ph.D. as its new president. Receiving her doctorate from Yale in art history, President McInnis held leadership positions at the University of Virginia and the University of Texas at Austin before her appointment as president of Stony Brook University in 2020.

In her message as president-elect, she stated a desire “to reconnect with those I know and to meet so many more of you. You make this university what it is. The community environment that brought me to Yale was created by those who came before us and has been sustained and enriched by all of us... So, it is no surprise that our alumni lead, serve, and solve challenges across the globe. Yale is all that we bring to this community, and I can’t wait to get to know you and our university better.” President McInnis is welcoming input from all members of the Yale community through this webform.
