Here are the top 5 things to know this week:
|
-
The first Spring 2025 add/drop period for continuing and readmitted undergraduate students begins today. Registrar’s Office staff are available to answer questions and provide support.
-
Tomorrow, November 19, you’re invited to explore the intersection of technology, democracy, and security. Dave Leichtman, Director of Corporate Civic Responsibility at Microsoft, will discuss Navigating Democracy in the Digital Age at 4 p.m. in Tucker Hall, Tucker Theater, 127A. Please RSVP.
-
The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a five-year initiative that aims to improve student learning and success. The QEP Development Committee has now officially launched with thirty members of the W&M community divided into four working groups: Infrastructure, Assessment, Access, and Impact. The Committee will focus on the goal of Applied Learning for All. Check the QEP web page for the latest updates and progress as the Committee prepares for a Fall 2025 proposal submission.
- Take advantage of Blackboard’s Ally interface for accessibility. At 11 a.m. this Wednesday, November 20, join colleagues from Libraries and STLI in Boswell 140C for a hands-on workshop about increasing accessibility in your Blackboard courses.
-
This week’s shout-out goes to the multiple cross-functional working groups preparing for the final Board of Visitors meeting of 2024. It takes significant behind-the-scenes effort to welcome Board members to campus and develop material to facilitate productive discussion. I look forward to keeping you updated following our Academic Affairs Committee meeting.

Today’s note will be my last weekly message before Thanksgiving Break. Next Monday, November 25, and Tuesday, November 26, are remote instruction days and W&M offices are closed. Thanksgiving Break takes place November 27 through December 1. I know this time of year can feel hectic for many of us, so please remember to take time to rest and recharge. I wish you a wonderful holiday ahead.
This week and every week, I’m thankful for all that you do!
