More than 1,500 graduates crossed the stage Saturday to receive their degrees during morning and afternoon commencement ceremonies at Kachel Fieldhouse inside the Williams Center.

UW-Whitewater will host the Special Olympics Wisconsin Summer Games for the third consecutive year on June 5-7 at facilities around the Whitewater campus. Help us welcome and celebrate athletes and families from around the state by serving as a volunteer for the event.

Baseball, softball win NCAA regionals; three other Warhawk teams head to NCAAs
|
The Warhawk baseball and softball teams combined for a 6-0 record over the weekend to win their respective NCAA regional tournaments. The baseball team will host UW-Oshkosh in the Whitewater super regional starting Friday, while the softball team (pictured above) will travel to Winona, Minnesota, to face St. Mary’s. The men’s and women’s track and field teams and men’s tennis teams will also be represented this week at NCAA Championship events.

Back to back! Club softball earns another national title
|
The UW-Whitewater club softball team earned the 2025 National Club Softball Association Division II national championship after winning the World Series last weekend in Salisbury, Pennsylvania.

A total of 17 students combined to earn 10 Best of the Midwest Media awards for UWW-TV from the Wisconsin Community Media for the 2024-25 academic year.

| Rock County recognizes students at award ceremony
|
UW-Whitewater at Rock County recognized more than 60 students at an award ceremony last week to celebrate the 2024-25 academic year.

Kudos to Dwight C. Watson, professor of curriculum and instruction, who presented at the Conference on Learning and Student Success (CLASS) sponsored by the American Association of Colleges and Universities in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on April 3. His presentation topic was Creating Cultural Competent and Confident Educators through Dialogue Circles.

Kudos to Becca Hagerman, head women’s bowling coach, and Jennifer Regan, head gymnastics coach and lecturer of kinesiology, who were each named Division III National Coach of the Year in their respective sports. Hagerman earned the honor from the National Tenpin Coaches Association, while Regan was selected by both the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association and Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association.
