Over the past two years, I secured over $40M in philanthropic support from individuals, foundations, and corporations to additionally fund our Emergency Child and Youth Care Program, Community Hubs Initiative, SFUSD High School Graduation Ceremonies, and Summer Together Initiative.
Unfortunately, under this new City Ordinance, funding for our Summer Together Initiative is severely impacted. Sadly, I must inform you that we will not be able to continue soliciting philanthropic funds to leverage DCYF’s investment for Summer Together to enhance and expand youth slots and program services at your agency.
Here is an overview of the impacted funding:

However, your DCYF grant will still be in place with ONLY DCYF funding. I realize this news is very disappointing, frustrating, and perhaps confusing. For the CBOs who have been directly impacted, we will be reaching out to you immediately to provide additional information and respond to your questions. We recognize our grantee providers continue to serve on the frontlines and respond to the needs of our communities. Thank you for your commitment to our City’s children, youth and families.
